(PLTM) - A usual Saturday night on the job turned into chaos for a dancer at Five Star Entertainment, who was assaulted and robbed by a disgruntled customer. BVIslander Gary Smith, 43, pleaded not guilty to charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and theft in relation to the incident. Allegedly, on May 14th 2016, Smith visited Five Star Entertainment and requested a private dance with one of their dancers. After paying $100, the accused and the complainant in the matter went into a private room. It was noted that after 20 minutes, the allotted time for a private dance, the bartender at the business place knocked on the door to indicate the time was up. The court heard that Smith became angry, as he was not satisfied with the length of time. He then demanded additional time, to which he was told additional time requires additional money. Smith then began to demand a refund. When this was refused, both the accused and the complainant began to quarrel, which then led to Smith allegedly assaulting her. As a result, the court heard that the complainant pepper sprayed the accused. As the dispute progressed, Smith allegedly reached into her purse and took $300, and then left the site. While in Police custody for the incident, Smith told officers he did not intend to hurt the female, but he was trying to get out of the room, because she had pepper sprayed him. Smith was placed on $35,000 bail. He will make another appearance before the Magistrate’s Court on December 2nd 2016.
