(PLTM) - The BVI community is mourning the death of Geneva Lettsome, 88, who died early this morning, Tuesday, September 27th 2016 at the Bougainvillea Clinic.
The extraordinary woman has made tremendous contributions to the Territory, especially through the lives of her children.
Ms. Lettsome is the mother of Communications and Works Minister and local businessman, Hon. Mark Vanterpool; First Lady of the BVI and financial expert, Mrs. Lorna Smith, Medical Doctor, Mr. Heskith Vanterpool; Educator and Clergy man, Mr. Oliver Hodge; fashion and merchandise guru, Ms. Deborah Reynolds; and Ms. Maggie Baltimore, among others.
In a post following his mother's passing, Minister Vanterpool expressed his love in memory of her.
“To a loving, legendary mom who passed away early this morning, from all her family and friends in the BVI and all over the world, may her soul rest in piece. Geneva Lettsome has touched many lives near and far and she will certainly be missed and fondly remembered," the Minister expressed.
Earlier this week, Minister Vanterpool sought the assistance of the public to offer prayers for his mother, who was hospitalized at the time.
