(PLTM) - "I will not be intimidated by no one, not me," said Hon. Andrew Fahie, Opposition Member in response to what he said are bullying tactics by Education Minister Hon. Myron Walwyn, because of his concerns raised about the additional school year.

Hon. Fahie said that he is not against the initiative, but clearly there was not proper planning.

"It is something welcomed, I am glad for it. We have different opinions with certain things, but I am entitled to it because it is a democracy. It doesn't make me a negative person, it doesn't make me a bad person, it doesn't make me somebody who doesn't want to see people excel," he said.

He added, "I have a daughter in that grade (12). I have to make sure it is successful, but at the same time too, I have a responsibility in this Honourable House to come here and ask for accountability and transparency."

Hon. Fahie, a former Education Minister, also claimed that Minister Walwyn is seemingly trying to tarnish his legacy as a Minister, making it appear that education only started to move forward since he (Hon. Walwyn) became Minister.

The Opposition Member then outlined a long list of things he had achieved during his tenure, with the hard work of his staff. He also mentioned that Lloyd Black, a former Education Minister had also done some things.

"...Just do yours, don't put down nobody...I am not going to sit down and let it happen anymore. I ask every Minister questions; I never hear anyone of them get up and say I have a chip on my shoulder against them, " he said.

Hon. Fahie added, "And if I am not supposed to ask questions, then take it off the Order Paper."

He said that segment is allowed under the Standing Orders.

"I am not going after a soul," Hon. Fahie stated.
