(PLTM) - Residents and visitors set to participate in the 4th annual BVI Food Fete will be the first to witness the staging of the ‘Jost Pork’ event, slated for November 13 on Jost Van Dyke.

The event was unveiled at the launch of the Food Fete on September 24th at Callwood’s Rum Distillery in Cane Garden Bay.

Jost Pork will see pork being prepared in various ways, such as corned, doved, roasted, stewed and many more, as casually done in the Territory.

According to the Director of Tourism, Ms. Sharon Flax-Brutus, the idea of the event came as a result of a meeting between members of the Food Fete committee and residents of the island.

“It was a no brainer. Pork is very popular on that island and in the Territory on a whole.”

She added, “This year is expected to exceed expectations with the new additions and our regular exciting events.”

Jost Pork also got the attention of the Second District Representative, Hon. Melvin ‘Mitch’ Turnbull, who said he is pleased with the addition and looks forward to sampling the many flavors of pork.

“I am grateful for the team at the Tourist Board who continue to expand the options and opportunities here in the BVI, while at the same time promoting the BVI product.”
