(PLTM) - In his usual style, Minister of Education, Hon. Myron Walwyn began his remarks with a story line, this time encouraging students of the Althea Scatliffe Primary School to get up after every fall, dust themselves off and keep going. He was speaking at the school earlier this week where he related his message to the students by way of an analogy, which involved one of their fellow schoolmates. He explained that during this year’s emancipation festivities, Jonathon Hutchinson, who represented the school in the Prince and Princess Pageant, dropped one of the sticks while playing the drums during his talent performance. The Minister noted that this mistake did not deter Hutchinson or his performance. “He left the stick on the ground and beat that drum so good, it was even better that when he had the two sticks in hand.” Minister Walwyn stated that this is the attitude everyone should have in life. “Many of us, when we face adversity or if something goes wrong, we crouch up in a corner and feel sorry for ourselves and don’t move on.” He stated that Hutchinson’s actions served as a life lesson for him as well, adding, “If things don’t go your way, you get up and you make it go the way you want it to go.”
