(PLTM) - The National Democratic Party (NDP) is being accused of victimizing the entire Third District following the reelection of Virgin Islands Party’s (VIP) candidate, Hon. Julian Fraser.

During remarks made at a town hall meeting organized by the Leader of the Opposition on October 20, Hon. Fraser stated that the treatment and actions of the NDP government towards his constituents are very clear, adding, “This government has meted out some of the harshest treatment to a district, upon this Third District.”

Hon. Fraser went on to note that since his reelection in 2011, “There certainly cannot be any arguments about these being the darkest days this district has ever seen.”

“I’ll like to be as optimistic as the guy next to you, but to do that would be flat out ignoring obvious facts and hoping that simply denying the existence of the problems will make them go away.”

He added, “Only an ostrich can bury his head in the sand and get away with it.”

Hon. Fraser said that the government’s acts of victimization came through various means, in efforts of stifling his district.

“They have done it to you with an inadequate and unreliable water supply, the prolonged inconvenience with roadworks, their failure to complete the Nibbs Estate sub-division, the uncut bush blocking roads, your guts not cleaned for hurricane season, unemployment, high taxes and the host of other ills afflicting the rest of the Territory.”
