They are captain of the vessel, Jarvis Bosede Hodge, a resident of Estate Bethany, St. John, USVI and one of his passengers, Derrick Antonio Callwood of Hidden Valley, St. Thomas, USVI.

Police on Monday evening, November 7, stated that it was an officer of Her Majesty’s Customs who intercepted the firearm at the terminal.

"The motor vessel Inter Island Ferry Service that travels between the United States and British Virgin Islands was searched at the West End Ferry Terminal. A Glock 27 (40 calibre) was recovered," police stated.

They were charged for Untrue Declaration and remain in custody awaiting their appearance at the Magistrate’s Court in John’s Hole.

Police Commissioner Mr. Michael Matthews has commended the customs officer for a very good stop and the Commissioner of Customs for the joint work on this case.

“A strong message must be sent to persons who think it is acceptable to enter the Territory with a loaded firearm.” said Commissioner Matthews.
