Teams Fight For Top Spots In Schools Football League

(PLTM) - As the BDO Primary and BVI Football Association High School tournament continues, schools and their various teams are putting in the work to ensure top placements on the league’s charts.

Throughout last week’s games, November 14-18, despite a draw in a match between Enid Scatliffe Maroon, Cedar Green managed to stay on top of the charts in the Under 7 category.

Montessori was able to grab second place, made possible with their 11 nil win over Enid Scatliffe Red.

Other games of the week saw ESPS Maroons defeating the Seventh Day Adventists, thanks to a lone strike from N’Sean Woods.

SDA came back in full force and defeated the ESPS Reds with a 3-1 victory. The winning goals came from Shawn Hodge (2) and Nazri James. Ashrah James scored for ESPS.

In the BDO U9’s, Group A, First Impressions remains on top after Logan Titley scored the only goal of the game against Alexandrina Maduro Primary.

Cedar Green’s 2-1 win over Althea Scatliffe Primary Reds put them second, thanks to a goal apiece from Blake Kirk and Robert McKensie.

In Group B, Robinson O’Neal is still unbeaten, following a 2-0 victory against SDA, with Jadon Quashie scoring both. SDA rebounded with a 4-2 victory over Montessori to be in second place.

In the U12’s, Althea Scatliffe passed over Bregado Flax to claim top spot with a 2-0 victory against Joyce Samuel Primary, with goals coming from Johari Lacey and DeAndre Rogers.

St. Georges got off to a winning start with a 3-1 result against Jost Van Dyke Primary. Jefferson Frank and Xiomar Gunn (2) scored the winning goals for St Georges, whilst Henrique Warren scored for JVD.

Meanwhile, in the BVIFA Open Boys High School League, Bregado Flax earned their second victory, this time 4-1 over SDA, with goals coming Daniel Gilford (2), Devante Samuel and Joshua Ramprasad. Nathan Nibbs scored for SDA.

Prior, BFEC defeated ESHS with 2 nil, with goals from Jahdique Winchester and Sheldon Toohey.

St. Georges also beat SDA, 2-0, with Lilly Pierce and Justin Smith doing the damage. ESHS went on to beat St Georges, 4-2, thanks to goals from Sheldon Harry (2), Timothy Louis and Kemario Watson.

In the Open Girls Division, Cedar School pipped Claudia Creque by 1-0, with Darci Reich on hand to fire home the winner.

In the U14 Boys, ESHS are top with 3 wins from 3 after a 5-1 win over SDA, with goals coming from Watson, Marcus Butler (2), Jeremy Grant and Kahil Farrington.
