(PLTM) - Keno Allen will face a nine member jury and high court judge for the second time, as his retrial is set to commence on Monday, November 28.

Allen was in 2013 convicted by a jury and then sentenced by a judge to 15 years in prison over the robbery of a woman in an alleyway on Main Street.

Following an appeal hearing, a retrial was ordered into the robbery case. Allen then sought bail pending his new trial.

In May of this year, Allen was granted $75,000 bail signed surety, placed on a curfew and a door stop order where the police will have to ensure that he is at home between the time specified under the curfew. He is to also report to the West End Police Station daily between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

In May 2013, Justice Kelvin John sentenced Allen to 15 years in prison for attempting to choke; for robbery, ten years in prison; and indecent assault, two years in prison. The sentences were to run concurrently.

According to court records, on the night of May 11, 2012, Allen pretended to be a police officer and then lured a woman into an alley where he robbed and touched her in a sexual manner.

The victim was walking along Main Street in the vicinity of the Commercial Court, heading to the Dove Restaurant when the incident took place.

Allen approached the woman and identified himself as a police officer, who was doing some inquiries for the Superintendent of Police. He told the woman that they needed her assistance, but at that time the woman refused. However, Allen asked her to go with him to see the Superintendent for herself.

The victim then conceded, but as she walked long, Allen pushed her into an alley area, held her down, indecently assaulted and choked her. He also took some items from her.

During the ordeal, someone intervened and Allen took off.

The woman's injuries included abrasions to her neck, back of her ears, elbow and lower back.
