The story of Jesus Christ and Christianity is not a myth and about groups following a cult leader, according to Pastor Dr. David Bryan.

Bishop Bryan, who is the Pastor of God of Prophecy in Huntums Ghut, was at the time speaking at the 37th annual lighting of the Christmas tree at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza last evening, Sunday, November 27, 2016.

(PLTM) - The Pastor said that persons should take Jesus seriously as their destiny will be determined by the way they treat him.

"The story is not myth, nor is it fabrication. It is neither the religious thoughts of a few overly excited followers of some cult leader( it is true...He died for the sins of the entire world," he said.

"And every person’s destiny will be determined by what he or she has done with Jesus, a loving Christ, but a revolutionary. The God of history who presents all of us with an opportunity to decide what we will do with Jesus."

Bishop Bryan said that Premiers, Emperors and Cabinet Ministers will one day bow to Christ.

"I urge you this evening as we celebrate this traditional opening, the launching of the Christmas season in this place, I urge you to adore Jesus; I urge you to worship the Lord of Glory."

He stated that many make the mistake of treating Jesus as that of a baby.

"Babies seem often cute, could be played with…There are many persons who approach Jesus like that, but Jesus is not doll, he cannot be dressed up in any robes that (you) care to fashion him. I remind you, even those who go to church, even those who have darkened the doors of many houses of worship, don’t try to trifle with Jesus, he is not a baby to be played with; he is the Lord of history, " he said.

The Bishop added, "One day he will judge us all. Do not ignore him, your response to him will determine your destiny. Don’t neglect him because he is not irrelevant. The Jesus of Bethlehem is not a secondary figure of history, he is savior of the world, he is exclusive. Salvation is found in no one else."

Other speakers included Hon. Mark Vanterpool, Minister of Communications and Works; Mr. Marvin Grant, Council Chairman; and Mr. Carvin Malone, Lions President.
