Premier Holds Economic Talks With Chinese Officials

(PLTM) - Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr Orlando Smith, held discussions on several matters including economics, with Minister Counselor and Head of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom, Minister Xu Jin .

Minister Jin led a two member delegation, comprised of First Secretary, Mr. Hongyong Huang and Third Secretary Mr. Peng Zhang, on a three-day diplomatic visit to the Territory from December 1 to December 3.

Premier Smith and Minister Jin, exchanged gifts and dialogued during a courtesy visit to the Premier.

"Premier Smith and Minister Jin discussed business management, financial services, tourism and the development of Small and Medium Enterprises as the primary areas of economic growth for the British Virgin Islands," Premier's Office stated.

Dr. Smith also discussed the advantages of the BVI’s attraction as a tourism destination and highlighted that the Territory is renowned as the sailing capital of the world.
