(PLTM) - Filled with resentment and a host of undisclosed issues, Arion Fahie, 21, threatened to kill both his father and his girlfriend with a firearm, noted to be fake.

Arion made an appearance at the Magistrate’s Court earlier today, January 13, answering to the charge of possession of a firearm with intent to put persons in fear.

In a plea for leniency, Arion informed the court that his actions stemmed from his relationship with his father, or lack thereof.

“He told my grandmother if they don’t get rid of me, he would. He pulled machete at me before," said Arion to the court.

The accused admitted that he had indeed pulled an item in the presence of his father and his partner, but noted that it was not a real gun.

Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste-Dabreo, who presided over the matter, informed the accused that at this point the status of the gun is irrelevant to the law, noting that, “If I do not know it’s a real gun and you pulled it at me, you’ve achieved your purpose."

As it relates to the particulars of the matter, according to Crown Counsel Angel Flax-Solomon, on January 10 in Belle Vue village, the accused approached Ms. Rohani Baccus, girlfriend of his father, Milton Fahie, and whispered something in her ear. At this time, she was seated in Milton’s car, parked outside his mother’s house in Belle Vue, where Arion resides.

Baccus did not hear what the accused said, but noticed when he walked past her, he placed his hand in his pocket, withdrew a gun and pointed it at her. He then fled the scene.

Upon Milton’s return, he was informed of what transpired and proceeded to search the village for his son. When they found him, the court heard that Milton informed his son that he was going to call the police, which resulted in Arion approaching the couple and wielded the gun until a passerby shouted, “Me son what you doing, that’s your father.”

The court heard that officers spotted the accused hiding in nearby bushes, which resulted in a chase and he escaped into the hills. Later that day he turned himself in.

Under police interview, he stated that if the gun was real, he would have killed his father and his partner.

Due to the facts of the matter, the crown objected to bail, but the court opted differently, noting that they would grant bail if he gets someone who is eligible to sign.

His bail is set to $40,000 signed surety, in addition to a curfew between 10pm and 6am.

He was remanded to prison.
