Police inquiry into a two vehicular collision at Slaney involving a silver taxi bus and a black SUV yesterday, January 15, revealed that the SUV was overtaking another vehicle at the time before slamming head-on.
The SUV was heading west at the time, while the taxi bus was heading east.
As a result, seven persons, including five who occupied the taxi bus--- the driver and four visitors to the island, and two who occupied the SUV, were transported to the hospital for medical attention.
The driver of the taxi bus is noted to be in critical condition, while two of the four passengers are in stable condition.
(PLTM) - The other two occupants of the taxi bus as well as the one passenger of the SUV were discharged from hospital.
Police investigations are still ongoing.

Seven persons were rushed to the Peebles Hospital for medical attention following an accident earlier today, January 15 at Slaney, along the main road.
The two vehicular collision involved a silver mini bus, identified as a taxi, and a black jeep.
Information reaching BVI Platinum News indicates that four tourists are among the injured persons transported to the hospital.
Police and fire officers are currently on the scene attending to the matter.
