Old Madrid finally put some points on the board with a 3-2 win over One Love F.C.

(PLTM) - Teams who lacked performance in last year's season of the BVI Football Association National League, are back with a more vigorous approach, with the tournament now boiling down to the top four teams.

As it stands, the only team sure of a spot in the final games, as well as being confident that the title is theirs, is Islanders, who has been unbeaten throughout the entire league.

Following games last week end, January 15, Sugar Boys destroyed Virgin Gorda United with a 6-1 goal advantage. Winning goals came compliments Akeem Hendrikson, Mohamed Kachour (2), Derol Redhead, Roger Roberts and Terrence Nanton. Jashua Ramprasad scored the lone goal for Virgin Gorda United.

The weekend also saw Islanders securing another win, this time a 5 nil win against Panthers, with the winning goals coming in from Kevin Fisher (2), Julian Davidson, Frances Primo and Kevon Smith.

The top four spots were made even more uncertain with Old Madrid defeating the high flying Rebels Football Club. Kenrick Grant made several important first half saves for Old Madrid, including saving a penalty from Michael Baptichon, with his team mates outing up a strong defense throughout the second half to deny their opponents any free goal access.

Wolues F.C, lost 1-4 to One Love F.C, with only Christopher Farmer replying to goals from Trevor Ellis, Shamoy Thomson, Breaton Douglas and Richard Morgan.

The results mean that whilst the Islanders are a win away from being official champions with 3 games to play, the Sugar Boys remain mathematically able to catch them with 4 games to play.

The Rebels stay third on 19 points, despite their loss, and both Old Madrid and One Love now have 15 points to join fourth. The Wolues slip to 5th on 13 points. The race for the Golden Boot has also reached fever pitch as three players, Kevin Fisher, Richard Morgan and Kenmore Peters all have ten goals.
