(PLTM) - In line with educational advancements in the British Virgin Islands, the Territory is now considering the possibility of having students sit CXC exams online.

As noted by the Minister of Education, Hon. Myron Walwyn, his Ministry has already analysed and tested the venture, with results indicating all is well.

“It’s something we are looking at. I wouldn't give a specific date, but certainly if it works well, I think it is something that we might be on board with.”

The Minister went on to comment on the level of teachers around the region, noting, “We need to attract better talent to teaching.”

He stated, “It’s a problem the teaching profession around the Caribbean is facing. You’re not hearing the younger people say when they grow up they want to become a teacher. There is something fundamentally wrong with what is happening and there can be a number of reasons for that, but I think there needs to be a push in our individual countries for bigger and better persons to be in the profession.”
