(PLTM) - The Callaloo Poets, along with other artistes around the Territory, recently contributed a number of food items to the Family Support Network to aid them in their duty of servicing the less fortunate among the local communities.
Some of the poets who meet at Mellow Moods every third Friday, namely, Joanna France, Lavanta Thompson and Dwane Frett visited the network's office earlier today, January 23, to do the official handing over.
According to Ms. France, the group decided to make a contribution to the network, “because they have given so much to the community.”
She added that their contribution also stands as an invitation, encouraging other groups around the Territory to make donations of their own to further assist the less fortunate.
Administrator at the network, Ms. Wendy Charles was on hand to collect the items and expressed gratitude on behalf of the network and its clients.
“It will go a long way in creating a meal for someone.”
