(PLTM) - The legal fraternity of the British Virgin Islands recently welcomed Ms. Rogelle Edmondson to the profession, signified by her call to the Bar earlier today, February 21 at the High Court in Road Town. Friends, family and well-wishers all came out in their numbers to support the young lawyer on this momentous occasion. BVI Platinum News caught up with Ms. Edmondson, who was unable to hold back her feelings. “I feel a bit overwhelmed and happy. I worked hard and now I have to go out and reap the benefits of all the hard work I’ve done.” Ms. Edmondson recently graduated from the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at BPP University in Manchester, United Kingdom. Currently, she is employed as a trainee at Walkers Global, where she is set to operate in three departments in the company for a period of six months each.
“The first seat will be in the Regulatory Department, then in the Corporate Department and then the third seat will be in Litigation.” In giving advice to other young persons within the Territory, Ms. Edmondson noted that with faith, consistency and hard work, all things are possible. “You can’t do anything without believing in yourself; can’t get through anything without having consistency; and you always have to work hard. You need to have the drive, the passion and the commitment in order to pursue any goal.”
