“Yes! We’ve Seen Change”-District 2

It was a night filled with cheer from the people of District Two in the Virgin Islands, as they celebrated with their representative, Hon. Melvin ‘Mitch’ Turnbull, on all that has been accomplished in the time he has been elected, as well as all that is in the pipeline to come.

Residents gathered at the Cane Garden Bay park grounds last evening, February 25 for the Minister’s second annual district address.

The residents screamed, “Yes, we’ve seen change” in response to their District Representative, who was highlighting that much was tackled and change is abundant throughout District Two, as a result of his short one year and six months of being elected.

(PLTM) - Speaking to BVI Platinum News, the representative shared that he is content with the amount of work he and his team have advocated for and have delivered, thanks to the backing of the local government.

He shared, “At the end of the day, I believe the district has been stagnant for so long, so I’m just happy to get things moving.”

He added, “If I was to rate myself based on all that was done and accomplished, I think we are on a good track.”

The year 2017 has been earmarked by Hon. Turnbull as the year of action, noting that numerous projects to be tackled have already been outlined in the government’s 2017 budget, with the necessary funds being allocated.

In his remarks to the people of the district, Hon. Turnbull highlighted a number of key campaigns and projects that the district has tackled under his leadership, noting that giving, helping and aiding success is the culture of the people of the district.

The event was also attended by Premier Hon. Dr. D. Orlando Smith, who used the time to congratulate Hon. Turnbull and his district for the work done and the work to come.
