Update: Police Appeal For Help In Riteway Robbery

Police is seeking assistance from the public to identify and locate the individual behind a robbery that took place at Riteway Supermarket on Fleming Street last evening, April 19.

The man, noted to be armed and masked, made away with an undisclosed sum of cash.

Police investigations reveal that he entered the supermarket around 7:40 pm last night, and demanded that one of the cash registers be opened. He then took the cash pan and fled the scene.

No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident.

The assailant is described as a black, slim built individual in his twenties, about 5'9” tall, and spoke with a local accent. He was at the time wearing all black with a hoodie.

Persons with information that can help in identifying the lone gunman, are encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department through the RVIPF access number 311 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

Armed assailants made away with an undisclosed sum of cash this evening, April 19, after a robbery at Riteway Supermarket on Fleming Street.

When BVI Platinum News arrived on scene,  officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force were already on site.

BVI Platinum News was informed that the assailants made their getaway behind the supermarket, and disappeared into the Crab Lot area, commonly known as The Ghetto.
