(PLTM) - Early Actors from Grades 5 and 6 of St. George's Primary School brought goods and cheer to some seniors in the community on Thursday, 13th April, 2017.

In an event named "Bake and Bless", the students baked goods which were presented to ten seniors.

Early Actors, donned in their aprons, and under the supervision of three parents, mixed ingredients, rolled out dough, shaped rolls and filled baking pans as they made rolls (round, cloverleaf and crescent), zucchini bread, banana bread and cupcakes.

The baked goods were wrapped, labelled and packed in baskets with apple cider and distributed to the seniors. The students also sang choruses, read selected scripture verses and wished the seniors a Happy Resurrection.

The seniors expressed appreciation to the students for their thoughtfulness and encouraged them in their studies and future endeavours.

President of the Early Act Club, Chikae Stoutt Igwe while reflecting on the event, stated, "It was a great learning experience. We had fun baking and giving out the baskets to the seniors.”

Dornamay Nelson, an advisor in the club, said that it was an opportunity for the students to give back to the community at a time when the church was remembering how Jesus gave his life for the human race. She reflected on the seniors’ excitement when they were told about the event and their expressions of gratitude for the students' visit.

Adviser Nelson said that she was tremendously blessed by the level of participation, enthusiasm and dedication displayed among the EarlyActors.
