(PLTM) - After pleading guilty to possession of a controlled drug, Kyshawn Baronville, 23, told the court that he only uses the substance when he is stressed.

Requesting leniency from the court, the accused told Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards, “I’m not a troublemaker. I don’t cause problems. I only use it when I get a little stressed out.”

According to court records, officers found Baronville with .5 grams of cannabis, following a search on his person on December 26, 2016.

Police was at the time executing a search warrant on his Fat Hogs Bay residence for another matter, when the search was conducted.

He allegedly confessed to police that the drug was on him.

The accused was offered bail in the sum of $10,000 with one signed surety. He was also ordered to attend drug counselling sessions.

He will make another appearance on July 14 for sentencing.
