(PLTM) - Three students who were unsuccessful in this year’s school leaving exams, will each be given second chances to redeem themselves.

Since the reveal of the grades of the Twelfth Grades students of the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS), earlier this month, June 2017, it was noted that 3 students, out of a total of 162, failed.

Principal of the institution, Ms. Sandy Underhill, during her student report at the school's graduation ceremony last evening, June 22, disclosed that these students will be offered opportunities to redeem themselves and earn their graduation certificates.

She noted that one of the three students, who was unsuccessful in the mathematics exit proficiency portion of the overall exam, will be given an opportunity to attend classes from July 3 through to the 13th, and will re-sit the exam on July 14.

“Once successful, she will receive her graduation certificate,” Underhill said.

As it relates to the other two students, they both failed the mathematics exit proficiency portion of the overall exam, as well as failed to meet primary requirements of other core subject areas. These students will be given an opportunity to re-enroll in the Twelfth Grade at ESHS, or to attend the alternative secondary education programme.

They will also be given a chance to re-sit the exit exam in November 2017.
