(PLTM) - Work to have the two buildings completed, to house 32 additional classrooms at the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) is said to be on target, in time for the new school term.
"Delivering on the promise of new classrooms for Elmore Stoutt High School by September," Hon. Myron Walwyn, Minister of Education and Culture said this week.
"Our plan is to deliver a secondary institution that we can be even more proud of. There is much more to come very soon."
The new buildings will accommodate the extra school year students (Grade 12).
The first batch of students of the additional school year was housed at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) campus during the September 2016/2017 school year, because the additional classrooms were not ready in time for last September.
Minister Walwyn has stated that he is committed to the overall upgrade of ESHS, including the long term plan of separating the junior and senior students, and building an auditorium.
