(PLTM) - Participants in this year’s 2nd annual Virgin Gorda International Marlin Tournament, will compete to win cash prizes amounting to $23,000.

The competition, which is a partnership between the BVI Sports Fishing Association and the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor (VGYH), will take place next week, July 28-31, beginning at the VGYH.

The top three placers will walk away with cash prizes of $12,000, $7,500 and $3,500, respectively.

A total of fifteen boats are expected to compete in this year’s event.

VGYH General Manager, Erik Huber, said he is excited for this year’s event.

“We are excited to host the 2nd annual VG Marlin Tournament. This year we’ll have additional participating boats so we’ll have a weekend packed with fun activities to enhance the tournament.”

Registration for the competition begins on July 28, and is followed by a fun day event at Yacht Harbor on July 29. Register for the tournament at www.virgingordayachtharbour.com/vg-marlin-tournament.
