(PLTM) - Chantel Malone, long jump superstar from the British Virgin Islands, managed to secure seventh place at this year’s 2017 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships in London.
With a jump of 6.57, Malone edged out five other competitors in the finals of the competition, held last week, August 11.
Top place for the discipline went to Britney Reese, who represented the United States of America, with a jump mark of 7.02.
Malone, along with two other athletes, represented the BVI at this year’s World Championships. Unfortunately, Malone was the only one to qualify for finals.
Leading World Hurdler, Kyron Mcmaster was disqualified from his competition after his feet allegedly touched the line, following his first hurdle in the race, while track star Ashley Kelly, was not able to advance to the finals in the 400m.
