Governor Gus Jaspert has advised that residents in vulnerable areas move ahead of Hurricane Maria.

"Given the dangerous storm surge and large, destructive waves expected, people in vulnerable coastal and low lying areas should move further inland or to elevated areas. We also expect significant rainfall and flooding," he said.

The Governor added, "People living on hillsides or near ghuts should move to safer locations. Preparation to protect life should now be rushed to completion."

The BVI is under a curfew which commenced at 6:00 pm yesterday until an all clear is given by the NEOC following the passage of Hurricane Maria.
