(PLTM) - A candlelight vigil will be held tomorrow, October 20, for one of the Territory’s longest serving coaches, Xavier 'Dag' Samuels, who lost his life during the passage of the catastrophic hurricane Irma on September 6.
The vigil will take place at the A.O. Shirley Grounds from 6-8 pm, and members of the public are invited to join family and friends.
Samuels will be laid to rest on Saturday, October 21. The funeral service will be held at the Methodist Church in Sea Cows Bay, following viewing from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
Samuels is known for his long standing work as a track coach, and at the time of his passing, he was the coach for international hurdling champ, BVIslander Kyron McMaster.
Under Samuels' leadership, McMaster set three of the four fastest times in the world this year.
