(PLTM) - Despite the heavy afternoon showers that soaked the grounds of Queen Elizabeth Park II, scores of BVI residents, adults and children alike, patiently waited to greet the Prince of Wales.
Governor Augustus Jaspert, Premier Hon. Dr. D. Orlando Smith, members of his government and other political representatives also gathered to meet Prince Charles.
His Royal Highness shook hands with members of the community and chatted lightly with some adults and children.
Before he met with the public, Prince Charles made a stop at the BVI Red Cross' office, where he was shown some of the work the organization is doing on the island.
He was also shown some of the areas that were impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
Prince Charles is now being hosted at a reception held at the Governor's residence.
His Royal Highness also visited Barbuda today and on the final day of the tour, Sunday, November 19, the Prince will conduct engagements in Dominica.
His visit to these Eastern Caribbean countries comes amid the devastation caused by the hurricanes two months ago. [gallery=1501]
