(PLTM) - Fans of performer Kylo Sylvester, a lead singer of Stylee Band, have taken to social media to express shock, following news that he is among five victims who died in a plane crash on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix last night, December 7.

Stylee Band has performed at many shows in the BVI, including the annual Emancipation Festival celebrations in August.

"RIP KYLO. I'm so sorry your life had to be cut short like this. You in a better place now star. God bless your family, friends, and fans," one fan wrote on the artiste's Facebook page.

"RIP mi boy. Gone too soon," another wrote.

The crash occurred around 8:45 pm on Thursday night, December 7, near the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport.

Reports are that the private chartered Baron-branded aircraft experienced engine problems soon after takeoff. Noticing a problem, the pilot attempted to land on the airport’s runway, but the plane reportedly crashed in a nearby field.

The pilot is included among those who died.

The names of the other victims have not been officially released.
