Biosecurity, Border Protection Training

(PLTM) - Officers of the Department of Customs, BVI Ports Authority, Environment Health, National Parks Trust, Conservation and Fisheries and the Agriculture Quarantine staff are participating in a one-week training on Biosecurity and Port Protection.

According to government, the training, which started on February 19, ends today, February 23.

Entomologist from the United Kingdom (UK), Mr. Chris Mulumphy, and Overseas Countries and Territories Association (OCTA) Export Manager, Ms. Jillian Key, are the workshop’s facilitators.

The training is a part of a project by the UK, ensuring that Overseas Territories that were affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria have proper protocols in place for importation of soiled products during the recovery process.
