(PLTM) - Many residents rocked brightly coloured socks to show their support for individuals living with Down Syndrome and their families, yesterday, March 21.
The awareness was part of World Down Syndrome Day, observed worldwide on March 21 under the theme, “Lots of socks.”
Schools, staff of private firms and government offices all took part in the activity.
Persons also took to social media to showcase their colourful socks.
Government said that persons with the genetic disorder assisted at RiteWay Supermarket with the checking of receipts and handed out tokens of awareness to customers.
Persons wore an array of colourful socks, including the staff of the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the Department of Information and Public Relations, to advocate for more services and policies to improve the lives of persons with Down Syndrome.
