Shut Outs Highlight BDO Schools Football League Play Ahead Of Championships

Five goals by Tyriece Carrasco earned him MVP honors and carried Bredado Flax Educational Center to a 9-0 whitewash of St. Georges in their Under 9 match in the BDO Schools Football League.

Carrasco´s heroics, was among four shutouts registered in the league last week as play winds towards the July 1 championships, where the respective BDO School Football League Champions will be crowned.

Within a five minutes span Carraso had himself a hat trick after he began scoring in the fourth stanza. He picked up his last two scores in the 21st and 25th. In between, Jahdice Winchester padded the score with his two goals in the 10th and 17th. Shami Dore also had two scores with goals in the 20th and 25th.

Alajandro Santos had the game´s lone goal as Cedar Blue beat Cedar Green, 1-0 in their Under 9 matchup.

In an Under 9 matchup, Lenora Delville used two goals by Swelend Charles en route to shutting down Robinson O´Neal, 4-0. Charles who garnered game MVP accolades, scored in the 5th and 10th for the early 2-0 lead. K´Mori Smith and Elsha Bobb added other scores in the 20th and 28th.

Game MVP Timothy Lewis finally beat the West End Tigers defense for a score in the 35th minute, as Joyce Samuel blanked the West End Tigers, 2-0, in their Under 12 division contest. Dexron Durran added the second goal two minutes later.

First Impression continued their stellar play in the league with a 6-1 triumph over Enis Adams, with MVP Marcus Lake leading the way.

Lake scored the first two goals in the Under 12 Class contest, with scores in the 11th and 14th. Guillame Parking converted his penalty try in the 18th for a 3-0 edge.

Tyler Forbes added successive goals in the 27th and 28th, as they padded the score, before Daz Ritter cut the deficit to 5-1 in the 35th for Enis Adams.

Kendall Davis rounded out First Impression´s scoring with his goal in the 40th.

Braden Chalwell had goals in the 25th and 30th to carry Cedar past St. Mary´s 2-1, in their Under 12 division match. Dequan George had St. Mary´s score in the 36th.

The BDO Schools Football League, which kicked off on April 29, will crown its champions on July 1 at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds.

Competition begins at 3 p.m. with the top two U-7 teams Enid Scatliffe Blue v Seventh Day followed by U-9s First Impressions v Cedar Blue will play exhibitions matches. Both have 7-1 records and 21 points.

With 4-0 records, First Impression and Joyce Samuel are the top teams in their respective Under 12 Divisions.
