A new BVI Football Association Executive Committee was elected last night for a 2012-2016 term,during the association' Annual General Meeting held as its Botanic Station hadquarters.
Eleven clubs registered participated in the elections that had three regional football officials observing the process - Angenie Kanhai, Regional Development Officer - FIFA Observer; Derrick Gordon, CFU President - Observer; and Damien Hughes, Ag. CFU General Secretary - Supervisor of Election.
Andy Bickerton, who was elected during a special general meeting on Nov 16 was elected by acclamation to continue leading the organization.
Aubrey Liburd, who was challenged by former President Kenrick Grant, retained his position as 1st Vice President by garnering 7 of the 11 votes for the post.
Sherene Flax-Charles got the nod for the post of 2nd Vice President formerly held by Marcus Butler, by a 7-4 margin over Linda Smith.
Avanell "Clarky" Morton was unopposed as Secretary of Administration.
Humphrey Leue was given the nod as Assistant Secretary of Operations with an 8-3 edge over past holder Alfred Reid.
Andy Davis retained his Treasurer's post by an 8-3 advantage over Gareth Watkins.
Voga Brown is the Committee Member following a 7-4 margin over Shaun Henry.
The new executive will appoint the General Secretary.
The new executive will immediately get down to business as the 2012 BDO Schools Football League has its championships and awards ceremony slated for Sunday.
