Duo Charged For Harbouring Illegal Migrant

A joint operation between the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, HM Customs and Immigration Department has led to the arrest of three persons, all charged with immigration offences.

According to Police, on Saturday morning, July 14, officers conducted an operation in Virgin Gorda which led them to a residence in The Valley, Virgin Gorda.

At the VG residence, they arrested Jose Ramon Delar Rosa, 51 years and Maria Samuel, 34, both of The Valley and Eduard Beltran, 38, a boat captain of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Police stated that on Sunday, July 15, Beltran was charged with entering the territory illegally and Delar Rosa and Samuel were both charged with harbouring a person.

It is good to see that Immigration finally start cracking down on this type of behaviour. This is something that has been going on for decades and some immigration officers are well aware, but opt to do nothing.
