Woman Suffers Leg Injury After Being Pinned By Reversing Vehicle

Police have confirmed that two persons were taken to the Peebles Hospital for treatment following an incident in the area of Spaghetti Junction, opposite the cruise ship dock in Road Town, today, July 19.

When contacted, Diane Drayton, Police Information Officer told BVI Platinum News that a passenger entering one vehicle was apparently pinned by the door of a reversing vehicle.

Drayton stated that the woman suffered leg injuries and both her and the driver were taken to the Peebles Hospital for treatment.

More details will be provided as it becomes available.

Yesterday I was driving on the Blackburn Highway and a vehicle stopped and another vehicle was behind of the vehicle and I was # 3 vehicle. #2 tried to pass #1 not realizing the person had stopped so a lady can cross, she was crossing from out of town section go to the into town section.... more

She could if she could prove negligence...but an accident is not necessarily negligent. Sometimes it is best to accept, forgive and move on. There's no way the driver hit the car on purpose. Drivers look, but pedestrians, most of the time. are not cautious. They do not use the crosswalks, cross when their light is RED, often go behind moving vehicles. I've seen it! And drivers must stop for them? Everyone should follow the rules of the road; motorists and pedestrians. Motorists... more

I agree with you LCS. I sometimes wonder if pedestrians are aware that when the white lights are on at the back of a vehicle it means that vehicle is proceeding backwards.
