Two months after performing live before hundreds at the BVI Music Festival, 2011 X Factor USA winner, Melanie Amaro released her debut single today titled, 'Don't Fail Me Now'.

According to the BVI Tourist Board (TB), buzz over the song, which has been dubbed a mix of pop and rhythm and blues, began in late July through the songstress' postings on Twitter along with the unveiling of the singles' official CD cover.

In a TB press release issued today, August 1, it was stated that Amaro spoke to the Director of Communications, Arliene T. Penn and shared her excitement and anticipation about completing 'Don't Fail Me Now'.

Amaro further noted the meaning behind the lyrics and the time and dedication which it took to polish the song.

"The lyrics for my song best describe the journey that I went through in becoming the X Factor and the passion I felt in taking this musical path," Amaro expressed on behalf of her fans and all those who have supported her in the Virgin Islands and abroad.

"I'm asking everyone to embrace my music and when they hear it, I want them to think of the song as their own. I want them to sing along with me."

'Don't Fail Me Now' is scheduled to be released digitally and on the radio. In mid-August it will be available on iTunes. To hear 'Don't Fail Me Now', visit: http://bit.ly/Ps6SNN

I hate that they autotuned her voice. YOU DONT autotune Melanie Amaro's voice! No autotune whatsoever! NONE.
It's like they wanted to go with a dance beat, but didn't go hard enough. It's still a little too slow and the beat a little too weak to be something to kind of jam to. Not a bad song... more

The record execs and producers make all the choices for Melanie at this point. Melanie is a new arrtist they are "grooming" her as they do all of their artists. An artist under contract seldom get to make these decisions until they are well established. It sounds great but does not do her voice... more

No disrespect to Melanie Amaro. But her single is not one that may knock the bill boards. Her voice is beautiful YES, but who-ever compose this song was lazy. The song sound like a repetitive irritation that can be used by a "Long Range Acoustic Device" to disperse a rioting crowd.

It sounds okay in my opinion. A little too much pop and not enough soul if you ask me. (and melanie is all about soul) hope it sells! Cant wait for the album though. :)
