The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Task Force and CID Proactive Unit have seized more cannabis plants due to help from the public.

According to police, on Wednesday, September 12 around 2:00 pm, a joint operation between the RVIPF Task Force and the RVIPF CID Proactive Unit seized 36 cannabis plants in various stages of maturity from the Hope Estate area. In addition, 200 seedlings and 10 plants about 2ft tall were seized from an area in Shepherd Hill.

"The discovery of the illegal plants which remain in police possession pending disposal were based on intelligence and information provided by a member of the public," police stated.

Police also confirmed that no arrests were made at the time, but investigations are continuing.

Anyone with any information about these plants or other unlawful cultivation is asked to contact the RVIPF non-emergency number 311, or in complete and guaranteed anonymity - Crimestoppers on 800 8477.
