An autopsy conducted on the body of a Saudi Arabian Sheikh who died on October 10 while on Scrub Island has revealed that he died of natural causes, police spokeswoman, Diane Drayton confirmed.
BVI Platinum News has learnt that following the autopsy, the body of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Alhamrani left the Territory via the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport at Beef Island on Tuesday, October 16.
Sources confirmed that the body was flown to St. Maarten, where arrangements were made for a further flight back to Saudi Arabia.
BVI Platinum News understands that police had received a report of a sudden death on Scrub Island around 8:00 pm on October 10. A team of about a dozen members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) travelled by boat to Scrub Island via Trellis Bay.
BVI Platinum News observed the officers carrying packages and containers of evidence when they disembarked a boat at Trellis Bay shortly after 1:20 am on October 11 as investigations opened into the death the Sheikh.

Also aboard the boat was the body of the deceased. Drayton had initially reported that the police was treating the matter as a "sudden death" and nothing appeared suspicious at the time. Drayton had also confirmed that the Coroner had been notified.
According to information reaching BVI Platinum News, the Sheikh was staying at Scrub Island with other siblings, who are embroiled in a court battle to settle a dispute over previously jointly owned assets, which include a BVI company. The case is currently being heard at the Commercial Court on Main Street.
