The person arrested on suspicion of murder during a series of police operations last month has been released as investigations continue.
BVI Platinum News contacted the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) last week for an update on the arrest, which was announced on August 12.
“The individual who was arrested was discharged pending further investigations,” the RVIPF Public Relations Department stated.
The Force did not provide any further details.
The individual was arrested during searches at several locations as police intensified investigations into recent gun crimes across the Territory. The operations also led to the recovery of a reported stolen vehicle and the seizure of several items of evidential value.
At the time, police did not disclose which murder was connected to the arrest.
Two murders had been recorded in the Territory when the arrest was announced. K’moi Walters, 26, was fatally shot in Huntums Ghut on July 6, while businessman Kai de Castro was shot and killed in Brewers Bay on July 28.
