McMaster Eyes Diamond Trophy In Switzerland

Currently ranked by the IAAF as the world's 3rd fastest man in the 400m hurdles, BVI's Kyron McMaster will be competing in the IAAF Diamond League finals in Zurich, Switzerland on Thursday, August 30 at 3.44pm BVI time.

BVI Olympic Committee stated that, while the 2018 Diamond League phenomena and current world #1, Qatari hurdler, Abderrahman Samba will not be competing in Zurich, Kyron will face Karsten Warholm, currently ranked world #2 by the IAAF and who has had a string of sub 48 races this season.

McMaster was the 2017 Diamond League Champion when he won the race in a time of 48.07 to beat Warholm, who placed 2nd with a time of 48.22.

The 2018 Diamond League finals will be McMaster's 7th major international competition this year and follows on from his latest 1st place finishes at the CAC Games in Barranquilla, Colombia on July 31 with a time of 47.6 and the NACAC Track and Field Championships in Toronto, Canada on August 10 with a championship record time of 48.18.
