(PLTM) - The reconstruction of the Robinson O’Neal Memorial Primary School on Virgin Gorda is wrapping up and is set for reopening early in this academic year.

"Thanks to the North Sound Foundation, the Robinson O’Neal Memorial Primary School is scheduled to be completed and reopened early in this academic year," Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. D. Orlando Smith said.

The school sustained significant damage during the passage of hurricane Irma last September.

The reconstruction, which commenced in February, was funded by owner of Oil Nut Bay, Mr. David Johnson.

On Sunday, September 15, North Sound Foundation will be hosting an open house picnic in honour of the newly rebuilt school from 2pm-5pm on the school's compound.
