(PLTM) - Evaluators in the upcoming Country Assessment of Living Conditions (CALC) are receiving training on the instruments to collect information for the project, according to government.

The workshop’s Facilitator, Economist II within the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Emery ‘Che’ Pemberton explained that the evaluators are being trained on the component of Institutional Assessments (IA), as it is important to get a better understanding of the current state of the Territory and create strategies to address the needs of residents.

Institutional Assessment is one of five components of the CALC project, funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and facilitated through the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

The two-day workshop began on December 10 and focused on exploring the importance of institutions and the services they provide in socioeconomic development; discussing rights-based approach to service delivery; and providing assessors with the knowledge of the definitions, process, data collection instruments and skills to conduct the IA.

More information on the Country Assessment of Living Conditions will be provided to the public over the coming weeks. Concerned persons can also call 468-2144 for more information.
