(PLTM) - The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has launched a Grand Vehicle Raffle as part of a major fundraiser drive for the force’s 2020 Police Week activities.

In partnership with Tortola Auto Group (TAG), the vehicle of choice is a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT. The winner will also get six months free gas courtesy of Delta.

The vehicle was officially unveiled on Saturday, August 2 at the Prime-Time Festival Village. Leading up to the Grand Raffle Drawing, many early bird raffle prizes are there to be won including two 55” TVs, a round trip ticket to Puerto Rico and two round trip tickets to St. Maarten. The first early bird drawing date is set for August 31 and the second, on October 26 2019. The Grand drawing is set for Christmas eve, December 24, 2019 at Delta Petroleum’s Pasea Estate location.

Deputy Commissioner of Police and chair of the Police Week Planning Committee, Mr. Alwin James, states, “I am excited about the partnership with TAG, Nagico, Delta Petroleum and other sponsors to give a happy winner this vehicle. All proceeds from this raffle will be used for community projects. We see the need to consistently engage in the development of various areas within the community. I look forward to the overwhelming support of the community, there are lots of prizes to be won for twenty bucks.”

TAG’s Senior Executive for Marketing and Sales, Mr. Gordon French commended the RVIPF for the initiative to embark on programmes to benefit the community.

“This is a win-win for all. Someone will drive home a best in class, diesel-powered dual cab pickup that is built by Ford for on and off-road adventures. The Ranger is fuel efficient and is equipped with comprehensive Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which enhances the Ranger’s performance to help owners keep pace with any job, anywhere, whether on the worksite or the weekend. The winner will also receive a 5-year Factory warranty, Ford’s ultimate guarantee. At the same time, the community also benefits through the generosity of the residents who will be buying tickets,” Mr. French stated.
