“We are ready to go. We are working on confirming the drivers. That is something we are excited about starting,” Minister Rymer said on the Virgin Islands Party’s (VIP) Let’s Talk radio programme on Tuesday, January 18.

He added, “We are trying to encourage less congestion in the city where we expect persons to do more walking, but we will have a shuttle service.”

In June 2020, the government undertook a Park & Ride shuttle service that included taxi drivers as part of $1M COVID-19 stimulus package. Some15,479 passengers used the service which ended on February 2016.

Prior to that, in December 2019, the government undertook a pilot city shuttle programme using two electric vehicles loaned by ROMASACO Group to transport residents through Road Town for free.
