(PLTM) - Senior Pastor of the Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church Reverend Dr. Melvin A. Turnbull is calling on all the people living in the British Virgin Islands—citizens and residents—to come out in full force tomorrow Thursday, 24th May in support of The Decision march.

“As long as you call the Virgin Islands home or have in any way benefitted from its resources, you need to answer the call to march,” he said. He continued, “The Virgin Islands has been good to all of us—for locals and our friends who have made this Territory their home. Now it’s time for us, all of us to be good to the Virgin Islands.” Rev. Turnbull said he is aware that people are concerned that there may be hidden motives for some persons professionally, politically or personally, however, this march is not, and cannot be about the organizers. It certainly is not, and cannot be about NDP or the VIP, or any other selfish P.

He said that the cause must be bigger. “As a people, we must see this cause differently. The decision to march is about three ‘Ps’: Preserving, Protecting and Planning the future of the Virgin Islands! “This march must be about the Virgin Islands – preserving our heritage, protecting our status, and planning our future,” he added.

He said that the history of the Virgin Islands shows that marches attract all kinds of people: the curious, the onlookers, the faultfinders, the opportunists and the list can go on. But that matters not. The cause must be bigger and once the cause is bigger, it will override any selfish motive or hidden agenda. “All of us, whether we are living on Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke need to come out, no matter our nationality, religious and political persuasions, and march.” “Let us focus on Jehovah as our source. This is our time to collectively continue to petition Jehovah,” Rev. Turnbull posited. The march is being held from 4.00 pm at the Sunday Morning Well to the Governor's Office and is in response to the United Kingdom's Parliament decision to impose via imperial legislation, public register on all OTs including the BVI.

Speakers will include, Hon. Dr. D. Orlando Smith, Premier of the Virgin Islands, Hon. Andrew Fahie, Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Kedrick Pickering, Deputy Premier, Bishop John Ivan Cline, and the Decision March Organiser Ms. Patsy Lake, 1968 Positive Action March Leader .
