Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force gave a K-9 demonstration to children attending the Vacation Bible School at the New Testament Church of God, International Worship Center on Thursday 15th August.

The children got to see the officers at work in finding prohibited items, protecting its handler and obeying simple commands like sit and stay. They even got to play with Officer Patty.

They learned that there are many types of dogs that are used for Police service and that there are many crimes that these dogs can be used to detect and solve.

Three officers of the RVIPF are currently undergoing a basic K-9 handler training that would train the new officers in the area of K-9 handling. The training which commenced on Monday 12th August and will conclude on Friday 23rd August is being conducted by Paris Nicholson IV of K-9 Pipeline Training Academy LLC.
