Update: 'Floating Body' Identified As Brazillian

(PLTM) - The man who was found dead on Friday, 19 February 2021, in the waters adjacent to the Sea Cows Bay Community Centre has been identified as a native of Brazil.

Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said via a statement issued late Saturday, 20 February 2021 that detectives of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force are now able to release the name of the victim.

“The deceased is Waleid Kachhour, a native of Brazil, who resided in Manuel Reef,” she informed.

She added that Kachhour’s death is being treated as a homicide.

The corpse was found with its hands and feet bound, lying face down in the water.
