(PLTM) - Amberly Crabbe, one of the prominent persons in the “We the People VI” movement, expressed her views on the on the anticipated United Kingdom response on their decision about whether the suspension of the constitution will occur and the way forward for the Virgin Islands.

In an interview with BVI Platinum News, Crabbe revealed that she does not believe that the United Kingdom will release a response regarding the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry (CoI) any time soon.

She also stated that even with the pressure from regional and local entities to not suspend the constitution, the UK has not been forthcoming with their communication. She explained that this is indicative of a lack of respect by the UK for the people of the Virgin Islands, and their values and positions regarding A1 of the recommendations detailed in the CoI report.

While she believes that the UK has already made a decision about the recommendations, she said that the country will have to wait to see if the UK will follow through with their plans.

She also discussed that while the UK has offered possible solutions to inefficient governmental systems, the report suggests that there is a strong sense of unfamiliarity with Virgin Islands norms and customs.

“You can tell based on the recommendations that there is a lack of understanding about our society, our culture, how we operate and the way we do the things. Though we would agree in some areas that we have issues that need to be addressed, they cannot be done in the way the United Kingdom is suggesting.”

While she agrees that some of the recommendations should be implemented, she argues that the National Unity Party Government should determine the processes that should be utilized. Crabbe argues that the implementations should reflect internal decisions and originate from the people and Government of the Virgin Islands.

She stated that the “We the People VI” movement intends to organize a series of open dialogues and facilitate community engagement to tackle the necessary changes. She also stated that it was necessary for members of the public to be honest about what good governance means. She encouraged the public to support the government by offering suggestions, although she stated it would be unreasonable to think that the Government would implement all the public’s suggestions.

“We know that change is inevitable. We had started to see the government institute some of those changes, but I think it is important for the people to be a part of the process. We have complained for quite some time about things in the system that we don’t like, and I think this is our opportunity to engage in the dialogue. And while we don’t have a seat with the Government, we are the Government because the people are the Government,” Crabbe told BVI Platinum News.

Now in collaboration with the Unity government, these people will attack freedom of speech, such as comment sections of BVI News and Platinum News, whilst saying this is to encourage unity and positivity. Will the media houses have **** and stand their ground? Hmmm

Does this, "... there is a strong sense of unfamiliarity with Virgin Islands norms and customs.", mean that right-and-wrong are different concepts in the BVI as compared with the UK, or maybe the US? By this quote, You can tell based on the recommendations that there is a lack of understanding about our society, our culture, how we operate and the way we do the things. Though we would agree in some areas that we have issues that need to be addressed, they cannot be done in the way the United Kingdom is suggesting., it sounds like Ms. Crabbe is completely happy with the complete lack of transparency and under-the-table nature of our government. The status quo is just fine and dandy? Okay, Ms. Crabbe, you've made yourself very clear, and let me be clear - Based on this , in no fashion would I support you or any of your positions.

Did the UK hide files upon files of people with over fifteen years to 20 years of service to the country seeking change of status ? 10. Is the UK holding the business people at ransom , so there is no enforcement of price control? 11. Did the UK raise port fees so the 12. Did the UK hold a mallet over the leader of the country head to alledgeded accept bribes and seek the underworld of evil to stay in power while having fast and day of prayer ? Who to blame ? When there was a cry to protest against the poor decision making practices of government, these entitled folks were nowhere in sight. As soon as there is a plan to correct these poor practices, all of a sudden these entitled citizens see the need to speak out. They are all hypocrites!!!! Their free meal tickets are disappearing so they are crying out. Thank God for allowing our current revelation. I pray that we will all move forward in a fair and honest way.

Here Goes...
Simple solution put it to the vote, do the people of the BVI want to carry on with rampant corruption or do they want the UK to step in for 2 years. Very simple, let the people decide. Will stop all these other countries, organisations and crooks, sorry I mean upstanding citizens, speaking on our behalf...

You start to change your movement by using representation from all corners of your people across the social fabric and integrate then Not just a selected few and you will get support no representation without consultation then your circle will get support. It is time to break glass ceilings March for that

I agree, changes must come from the people. What you fail to understand is that the majority of the people want the UK to take control and get us back on track.

Ms Crabbe. You do not represent us. Look at the dismal attendance at your protests. We want all the bad apples removed. Who knows how many are left in the "Unity government". Only when they are all gone can we move on. Save us UK.
