(PLTM) - Police Information Office - Press Release - Sunday, July 8, 2024

Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force are investigating a report received of an attempt to smuggle contraband into His Majesty's Prison on Friday, July 5, 2024.

As part of the investigation, a Police Constable was arrested for questioning and released, pending further investigation.

The officer was immediately interdicted from duty.

The RVIPF is coordinating with prison authorities to progress the investigation.

The public will be given further updates as needed in due course.

Acting Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool wishes to assure the public of the RVIPF's commitment to the investigation and prosecution of any malfeasance committed by its members, or any other member of the public service.
