The British Virgin Islands' journey to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is officially underway, with the Territory's King's Baton now on its way to Glasgow, Scotland.

The baton, decorated by Virgin Islands artist Desiree Smith, also carries the touch of the Territory after residents participated in the King's Baton Relay held in the Virgin Islands last year.

During the Opening Ceremony on Thursday, July 23, the baton will be carried into the stadium by Virgin Islands batonbearer Jaleel Croal, marking the Territory's official participation in the Games.

The BVI Olympic Committee said supporters can look forward to following Team BVI throughout the 23rd Commonwealth Games, with the Territory's track and field athletes scheduled to begin competition on July 27.
